Set Theoretical Variants of Optimization Algorithms for System Reliability-based Design of Truss Structures

In this paper, recently developed set theoretical variants of the teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm and shuffled shepherd (SSOA) are employed for system reliability-based design (SRBDO) truss structures. The designed based on a simple framework in which population candidate solutions is divided into some number smaller well-arranged sub-populations. addition, applied to Jaya algorithm, leading set-theoretical variant algorithm. So far, most studies have focused reliability single structural members. This due fact that problems with constraints computationally expensive solve. especially case statically redundant structures, where failure modes so high it impractical identify all them. System-level analysis structures carried out by branch bound method stochastically dominant paths identified within reasonable time. At last, three numerical examples, including size presented illustrate effectiveness proposed SRBDO approach. results indicate efficiency applicability algorithms solve
